A waste treatment plant which turns rubbish into methane gas could be built on the outskirts of Plymouth.
The £9million plant, at Lee Moor, would use a new technology to deal with waste without burning it, according to a report submitted to Devon planners.
The methane it produces would be burnt on-site to produce electricity.
The British engineering company AeroThermal Group Ltd together with 4Recycling Ltd is proposing to develop the plant at the site of Imerys Minerals Ltd at Lee Moor, east of Plymouth.
