Generator Systems
AeroThermal’s concept provides a complete waste to energy solution utilising and enhancing core qualities of complementary technologies. If waste to energy is desired, then clearly an integral part of this process is power generation and appropriate redirection of waste heat.
Depending on the application, there are varying benefits which will determine the preferred selection to use either a reciprocating prime mover or gas turbine power generation plant. Irrespective of the choice, by using an EnviroForm anaerobic digestion system, biogas containing high methane content can achieve a high degree of engine stability for either option.
A significant amount of energy put into any engine is lost via exhaust gas, cooling fluids and mechanical inefficiencies. However, AeroThermal utilises as much of this waste energy as possible in other parts of their system to minimize this negative impact on the environment and at the same time enhancing the overall system efficiencies and profitability for the operator.
A key benefit for using CHP gas engine technology is the ability to operate on natural gas and liquid fuels alike. The system is generally started from cold using a pilot fuel (e.g. LPG) for ignition and by using electronic engine management units, high efficiencies at low gas pressures can be realized.
Strict adherence to National and Local exhaust emissions regulations is achieved by tight monitoring and high standards of health and safety policies.
After servicing all the requirements of the AeroThermal waste to energy process, what is left of the waste heat is generally of a low grade. However, dependent upon site location and services available, it can be used in both heating and air conditioning units via absorption cooling.
